swim

Today was the last day of swim class.  Afton hates getting water in her eyes, so I got her some goggles.  I will make sure to hang onto these pictures to show her when she gets older.  (or to her future husband)
Avery LOVES swimming.  She hasn't quite mastered it yet, but she is working on it.

Memorial Weekend

Here are some random pictures from this past weekend.  Chad's parents and our 2 nieces came out to visit for a few days.  During that time, we put them to work.  Chad and his dad shingled the playhouse.  I have no idea how nobody was hurt during that "project".  They were wearing flip flops, standing on the TOP of ladders that were clearly unsteady, and working around 5 little monkeys climbing all over the place.  They also put up a swing beam with 2 swings.  Again, no idea how they managed to do that without hurting themselves.  (wobbly ladders, flip flops, and children...)
Claudia styled and braided the girls hair more times than I can remember.  I think Drew tried styling Claudia's hair too.
I unfortunately did not get too many pictures.  I always seem to forget about taking pictures of all the action.

Exhausted!

Either her cousins wore her out, or she was tired of waiting for mommy or daddy to come and push her up this hill???  Whatever the reason was, she passed out and who knows how long she was sleeping in the back of the truck.

Fancy English Tea Party

So its only 90 degrees outside.  Its hazy, hot, and humid.  It is obviously a perfect time to bake scones and have a tea party at 1pm. :-)

My niece Claudia made chocolate chip scones and frozen chocolate peanut butter bananas.  She picked some flowers/branches/leaves, and made little place cards for the girls.  The girls all got on makeup and dresses.

The tea party lasted about 5 minutes.  Literally, 5 minutes is all it took to eat the scones and bananas.  This party began its planning and preparation around 9am.

Drew is being a good helper.

I love this picture of Afton.

Per instructions from Claudia, you must stick out your pinky while drinking tea at a tea party.

Ballet Recital

Avery had her very first ballet recital Saturday.  There are 3 girls in Avery's class.  It was so funny to watch because they kept looking at each other not knowing what their next move was supposed to be.  They got through it, and it was cute.  I think the thing Avery enjoyed most was the makeup and receiving flowers at the end.

Preschool Music Program

Afton had her preschool music program last Tuesday.  She was constantly waving at us during the show.  I think she did more waving than singing.  I had a friend take pictures of her since I did not have my camera.

Mother's Day

In an attempt to capture a Mother's Day Photo, I got these....  Cooperative kids??  No, but this is Life.

Bus?

One of our neighbors gave Drew this cute little back pack.  He came up to me and asked me to "help", and he wanted me to tie the excess straps around him.  I did what he wanted and he looked at me with his big brown eyes and said "Bus????"  I answered, "you want to ride the bus???"  He says "Yes, bus please".  He looked so darn cute standing at the end of our driveway just waiting for the bus.  It was enough to break your heart.  The years are going to go by so fast and before I know it, he really will be at the end of the driveway waiting for the bus!!!

Gator Time

Chad finally bought a new battery for the Gator.  Afton LOVES it.  She drives around the house a lot.  Avery takes it to her friends houses like she is driving a car!!!  Drew is finally getting the hang of riding in it.  When we first got it out, he kept falling out of it.  But no matter how many times he would fall out, he would cry to get back in.

Daddy Daughter Ice Cream Social

Avery got to take her dad to a Girl Scout Ice Cream Social.  They got to play games, jump rope, dance, and eat lots of ice cream.  A very special time for the girls to have there dads with them instead of the moms!!
I took these shots before they left.  It was also pouring down rain!!!
