Merry Christmas!

Four!

Drew boy turned 4!!!!  He is such a sweetie and we just love him so much.  It is so hard to wrap my head around the fact that he is 4.  He is such a little snuggler and momma's boy,  that I feel like he is still a baby.  Maybe I'm just having a hard time letting go.  His sisters adore him and rarely let him do things for himself, this has been the source of many fights in our house because Drew is getting pretty independent.
We just love this guy so much and are thankful that God blessed us with such a sweet boy!  Happy Birthday buddy, we love you!

Braces Phase 1

Today was the day that my 7 1/2 year old Avery got her first round of braces and expander.  She was a trooper and was very excited about it.  Gotta love them at this age!  Although it is very hard to see, she chose heart shaped braces with purple and pink rubber bands.  The hardest part of the morning was selecting the rubber bands!!!

Halloween 2013

This year our trick or treat was moved from the 31st to November 2nd, due to the weather.  I guess they were expecting some severe wind gusts (upwards of 50mph) during the trick or treat times.  Unlike most neighborhoods who moved their times to earlier in the evening,  Delaware decided to move beggars night to a whole different day.   The weather last night was not very good!  It was clear all day up until about 5:55 pm, and then it started to rain and the temp dropped.  I guess that is why Drew only went trick or treating for 15 minutes and the girls only lasted about 45 minutes.  On the plus side, they did not bring home much candy.  However, I only had about a dozen or so trick or treaters, so that means we have lots of left over candy!!!  The kids did get to do a lot this year when it comes to dressing up.  They got to trick or treat the weekend we went camping on October 11.  They got a ton of candy!!!  They also had a costume parade at school too.  Drew had 2 costumes, he was Buzz Lightyear twice and then he was an army guy.

Afton came home from school and told us that her friend Braeden was dressed up as a "Ghost Catcher"  Afton, do you mean "Ghostbuster???"  Um, yeah.

We were in the van last night on the way home from the YMCA and Avery just blurted out that reading in the dark makes her cuticles smaller.  What??!!?? 
Avery corrects herself and says " I mean it makes my pimples smaller!" 
What???!!!  Avery, do you mean pupils?

While learning about Asia, Avery informed us that the capital of Tokyo is Japan.

 I wish I could remember more and I really should start writing their words of wisdom down.

Mommy bought some clippers on yet another quest to save money.  How hard can it be to cut a little boys hair... turns out, quite hard.

Drew:  "Daddy, I didn't cry!"

School Time!!!

The first day back to school came early this year!!!  Afton is finally getting her turn to ride the bus and go to school.  She is a big KINDERGARTNER this year and Avery is in 2ND grade!!!  Such big girls they are!  I love how they are so excited to go to school.  I guess they don't realize that they have only 12plus years to go!  It really tugs on my heart that they have grown so fast and are doing all these big girl things.  It is such a mixture of being happy, proud, sad, and reflective.  I hope they have a great year at school!!!

Sweet & Sassy 7

It is almost Avery's 7th birthday!!!  She got to go to Sweet and Sassy with my mom to get her nails painted, make up done, and a sassy little up-do.  Notice that she is now getting in her front tooth.  She is looking so grown up these days!

School's Out!

Is it cliche' to keep saying "Wow, this year has flown by!"  or "It seems like yesterday they were just babies!".
Seems that is the first thing that comes out of my mouth when I think about Avery finishing up 1st grade and Afton on her way to Kindergarten. 

My how both of my girls have grown up.  Avery is incredibly smart and Afton is really turning into quite the social butterfly at school.  They have had so much fun this past year at school and both were sad to have it end.  However, that was short lived since now they are looking forward to camping and other fun summer activities!!!
